Baggett Music Studio
ATTENDANCE POLICY
1. Be on time for your lesson. I may have a student directly following you and can't afford to go over to make up for lost time. I begin and end on time.
2. I must be notified 24 hours in advance of a lesson that will be missed. Otherwise, it will be considered an unexcused absence.
3. What constitutes an unexcused absence? (a.) A death in the immediate family (no multiple months of "Aunt Betty" passing away). (b.) Serious illness.
4. What does NOT constitute an excused absence? (a.) soccer/baseball practice/game. (b.) too much homework. (c.) the dog ate my music/I forgot my music.
5. If there is a problem that prevents me from teaching a lesson, you will be notified at least 24 hours in advance. Should your child miss a lesson due to illness or a death in my family, you will NOT be charged for that lesson. The cost will be removed from the next month's bill.
6. If you should decide to stop lessons, a full month's notice is required. For example: If you were to decide to cease lessons at the beginning of June, you are required to give notice the first lesson in May. If you do not give a full month's notice prior to ceasing lessons, you will be financially responsible for the next month, whether you are at the lessons or not.
PAYMENT POLICY
1. Payment is accepted in the form of cash, check, or money order. Credit cards are not accepted at this time.
2. All checks are to be made payable to T. Baggett.
3. There is a one-time, non-refundable, registration charge of $50.00. If there is more than one student per household registering at the same time, the registration charge is $25.00 per student. This fee covers the time I spend prior to the first lesson in developing an initial lesson plan. It also includes the time I spend on preparing records and activating the account with Baggett Music Studio, the time spent for the initial meeting prior to the beginning of lessons, and the cost of the studio supplies used for the student.
(NOTE: This does not include the cost of the lesson books.)
As soon as the registration fee is paid, the student's (and parent's) are considered active, and their account is immediately set up, allowing them to log in to the web site where they will have immediate access to an up-to-date calendar, invoice, payment, and lesson history.
4. There are only two lesson options available. You may choose between a 45 minute lesson at $20.00 per lesson or a 1 hour lesson at $30.00 per lesson. We do offer specialized theory lessons. They are 1 hour at $25.00 per hour lesson. The specialized theory lessons are typically scheduled on a Saturday. These are seperate from your regular weekly lesson. Theory is included in your regular weekly lesson. These specialized theory lessons are for theory only. They are typically used when preparing to take the Whitlock Theory Test.
5. As of January 01, 2008, Baggett Music Studio has changed our payment policy. Please note that the cost of lessons has not changed. Rather than paying monthly, for the lessons that month, we are now charging a monthly tuition. Add up the number of lessons in the semester, (January - May, June - August, and September - December). You may choose to pay that total amount in one lump sum, or divide that amount by the number of months in the semester, and pay it on a monthly basis.
For example: The total number of lessons for the Spring semester is 21. The total amount due for the Spring semester is $420.00. You may choose to pay that all in one lump sum, or you may choose to pay it monthly. If you choose to go with the monthly payments, you will divide the $420.00 by the 5 months. You then have a monthly total of $84.00.
If you do not begin lessons at the beginning of the semester, you will not be expected to pay the $84.00 each month. We will add up the number of lessons that you will have and divide by the number of months, to determine the monthly amount.
6. Payment is due at the first lesson of each month. After payment is received, you will receive an email stating that the payment has been received. This will remain on the web site for your records for as long as you remain an active student. Only you and I will have access to this information. This will also serve as your receipt.
7. On or about the 26th of each month, you should receive an invoice, via email, for the upcoming month. It will include all of the charges for the upcoming month, unless something comes up between the time the invoice is sent and the time payment is due at your first lesson of the month.
8. You may go online to http://bms.musicteachershelper.com at anytime. Once you log in you will have access to an up-to-date calendar, invoice, payment, and lesson history, should you have any questions.
9. Payment is due at the first lesson of the month. There is a $5.00 per week late fee for each week that the payment is past due.
10. Any checks received Insufficient Funds (NSF) will be charged a $25 NSF charge. After a check is received NSF, it is Baggett Music Studio policy to require payment in cash.
11. If I am unable to teach a lesson, the cost will be subtracted from the next month's bill, or you may choose to make up the lesson on a Saturday make up day.
12. Only excused absences are allowed to take a make up lesson. There will be one Saturday a month set aside for make up lessons. However, there will be NO make up lessons for a missed make up lesson.
13. If you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson, you are still financially responsible for that lesson, unless it is an excused abscence.
14. If you should decide to stop lessons, a full month's notice is required. For example: If you were to decide to cease lessons at the beginning of June, you are required to give notice the first lesson in May.
